Anyway...BHS have you worked on your cable management lately? I've been out of the OCN loop this past few weeks, I had surgery for a Hernia Nothing really new with my Tempest...I removed one of my 285's too reduce the temps in my case. I have been playing a lot of mw2 which doesn't even support sli. I've been thinking of selling my two GTX285's and getting a 480, but idk yet.

Cable management? Sort of. I haven't re wired anything. In fact, that temperature gauge I added on the front there (which I took from my old case) adds two wires, one of which I have purposely fixed to the middle of the case because it's the temperature sensor.

I have however as of today gotten rid of one of my hard drives, and more importantly, the IDE ribbon altogether. Not purposely, my IDE hard drive died. What really sucks is my IDE hard drive had linux on it, and linux has the GRUB bootloader. without that drive working, I couldn't boot into windows. After several attempts of trying to fix the boot thingy (and even while doing so I had my freaking power strip die on me D:< ) I finally got XP to boot properly.

I would take pictures, it probably looks a bit neater without the IDE cable but my camera is literally on its last leg with batteries.

Ouch on that hernia, you okay? My uncle had a double hernia not that long ago. He was doing sit ups, coughed, and kept going. He had surgery as well.

Edit: managed to get one pic. I realize that upper right area is kinda clustered because I just tucked the power for the old hard drive away and I didn't hide the temperature screen's power connector. But I will.

Hey guys, so you know that you will have another Tempest owner in your group, I just got myself a Tempest EVO last night. I really like this case.

After a long process of deciding what case I wanted, I wound up buying two. The Cooler Master Storm Scout is the other case. I'm going to guess it will be here within the week. So expect pics and such.

Oh, I even came up with a sig link "logo" for the group if anyone is interested. If one is already "designed" and ready, then nevermind.

Welcome Aura. You made a good choice.

Since I'm bored and I like doing quick ghetto mods, I added another one. I taped a pair of 25CFM 80mm LED fans inside my case. One pulls air from my empty hard drive cage and the other one pushes air out of the vented expansion slots. Yeah, not a big improvement, but it looks cool (you can't tell from the pictures because my camera is awful)

I've decided to call it.. HFGCC - High Fluency Ghetto Case Construction.

hi,, i'm new to overclock.net,, i would like to say HELLO everybody..
i'm using NZXT Tempest evo since 3 days ago..since i'm in indonesia,, it's very rare to see people using nzxt.. they don't know the capability of this cases.. am i right ? probably because nzxt just came into my country about two/three months ago..

here is my case

what do you think ? is it tidy enough ?

there is one thing that bothers me,, should i facing the PSU up (fan facing video card taking air from there) or down (fan facing down taking air from hole at the bottom).. ? this thing really makes me confuse,,because i see this thread gallery,,almost all of them facing the PSU up.. am i making mistake by facing it down? need some suggestion..

Welcome!

The power supply orientation is totally optional. NZXT made it so that it can mount either way, obviously.

I personally have the PSU fan up. People tell me that its bad to do that because it's taking air away from the video card. I find this to be surprisingly false. If I put my hand between my video card and my power supply I can feel a ton of cool air. Not to mention my video card never gets hotter than 60C. People call it negative airflow but I think the PSU's larger fan is able to get plenty of fresh air from inside the case this way.

I didn't want to flip the PSU with the fan down because I know how airflow is affected when there's something obstructing the fan from pulling air straight in. The Tempest does sit on rubber feet but they aren't all that high and underneath that is a tiny tiny gap to the floor, desk, or whatever your case sits on. Still, the height is probably plenty for most power supplies to have sufficient cooling.

tldr; It doesn't matter. to each is own.

Edit: I replaced one of the 80mm's with a 120mm. I love the airflow im getting.

Hey guys been out for a bit and did a few upgrades to the case...
First off I swapped my 965 for a 1055T. Then I added another fan for a push/pull on the h50, added one shroud to the intake fan also...Here are some pics and some oc's...Home Depot didn't have the proper screws or anything I could use so I got some 8/32 thread X 2 1/2" ones to suffice...Thanks Snapshot for the prior info...Temps are lovely on this chip. click links for temps. OC results from intel burn test were a little high but didn't crah and 3D Mark 06 didn't break 45c...

Stock clocks on CPU and GTX480
Overclocked CPU, GTX480 stock

IDK whats going on with my GTX480 but in BC2 I am getting solid 80-100 FPS in DX10 with High settings, 4XAA/4XAF HBAO=OFF...But my card is only being used 50-60% which is just like the pics in the stock clock link...I rolled back drivers and am getting better frames but same utilization...so weird

Great setup man, really Impressive.

Yeah, not all games stress the card out completely, probably because they can't optimally make use of all the cores or something.

Yeah I don't know what happened but I turned off my PC yesterday to do some grilling and came back to it later in the night and all of a sudden in BC2 my GPU was being used to it's full potential...Stayed between 95-99% usage the whole time while playing...
