So right now, you might be asking yourself...

What does the Tempest offer me as an overclocker? Well, here are some of the strongest features on this case-

Dual Radiator Ready: The NZXT Tempest is pre-drilled for mounting a dual 120mm radiator at the top of the chassis, currently compatible and tested with Swiftech MCR220, Asetek Dual radiator solution, and Thermaltake TMG2.
Airflow King: Dual 120mm intake, Dual 140mm Exhaust with an additional side 120mm fan and rear 120mm fan all included.
Maximize Expandability: E-ATX support allows more compatibility with high end components including large graphics cards
Easier accessibility & cable management: Cable routing is pre-drilled on the motherboard so users can hide cables behind the motherboard tray, allowing more a cleaning look and better airflow. Power, E-SATA, USB and Reset buttons are mounted at the top to give better accessibility.
Bottom mounted PSU: PSU mounting at the bottom allows for more security and separation of heat from the CPU
Server-like HDD space: Dual 120mm fans cool cages that hold up to 8 HDDs allowing for large capacity systems while maintaining cool temperatures

Here is my tempest. Its painted all black and has new fans, grills, cm holes ect.

Very nice Tempest! I love what you have done.. it's like mine (but I didn't paint my interior yet) except red. The black paint and the lines of the case reminded me of a stealth fighter, and your cable management is superb.

Stuck between this or a 1200.. I just don't like the square-ish design of the 1200.. this case is really sleek.

friendly bump for epic cases..

Just a suggestion, your case looks amazing as it stands.
I'm actually thinking about painting it a gloss white. With some orange accents maybe. Or I could just get it powder-coated black... still bouncing things around. Thanks for suggestions though.

Yeah it counts, you are contributing ideas! I also think you should strongly consider it for a next build.

This case was my first ever case for my first ever build. Liked it at first however I did encounter some problems. It was woobly and noise from vibration drived me mad. The good thing it is roomy and comes with lots of fans. To me it looks cheap and the build quality was not superb.

It is a good case if you are modder properly but I am not. Also the airflow on the stock fans was disappointing. Even my scout cooled my cpu better went down 8'c first now it came back up 3'c.

If it was all black and less plastic it would be great.

I am sorry to hear that your experience with the Tempest was less than satisfactory.

I've done two builds with this case, my own and a friends.
It provides good back panel holes for hiding wires.

I've had two problems:
1) The front LED lights don't flash in unision anymore on mine.
2) My friends kid pushed the start button so hard it popped to the inside of the case.

Other than that, very happy. Some psu chords may be too short. Corsair's are long enough. OCZ's make it but the cpu plug can't be diverted around the mobo. Has to run over it.

***RESERVED***

I won a Tempest from DriverHeaven.net and it hasn't arrived yet. There are a few small mods that I have planned in preparation for my LGA1156 upgrade so I can't wait to get my hands on it.

One question I wanted to ask though. Should I point my heatsink fan up towards the 2x140mm fans or out the back as it is now in my current case?

I can understand the child ruining the button, but the LEDs don't flash...?

Maybe you're using the power LED strips as the HDD activity LED.

Great to hear. NZXT's own PSU cables don't make the 8pin CPU power reach the motherboard going behind (although.. they didn't design the Tempest with a hole for it). So if you drill a hole... it's pretty safe to assume you'll need an 8pin extension.

Man, sounds like your fans are taking quite a beating! I replaced all of mine except for the two 140mm fans and everything is doing just fine.

You're already on the list.

Everything is steel except for the top and front facades, but the front fan grills are also metal.

I LAN quite a bit, and this case has help up for 8 months like a champion so far.

I would get a better rear 120mm fan, and point it at that. The two 140mm fans are Medium speed Yate Loons. Right now, I have a Silverstone FN121 in the back, and it's much better than stock.

Can't wait to see your case, though.
