Greetings, noob here. Right now I"m using C&Q stock and it works fine except that I noticed it tends to not be as responsive as I would like. I can't unlock my cores (won't even post though I didn't try just 3 cores) so I've decided to do some over clocking instead, I'm aiming for 3.4 for now. Eventually I'd like to OC my ram to 1600, but the CPU is more important for now. So If I'm understanding this correctly, at this moment, the bios is set for auto as far as the CPU is concerned. I haven't adjusted multi to get to 3.4 in the bios. Should I do that first or should I just leave things at auto and use this app? The guide makes it seem as if I should make the changes in the bios first to ensure it is fine, leave the OC in place and then use this app. I plan on disabling C&Q completely in the bios as I would like this app to handle auto-clocking in place of C&Q.
EDIT: So I OC'ed to 3.4 by only adjusting the Multiplier in the bios to 17.0 and starting playing with the lowest P1 I could do and got the CPU VID to it's lowest setting of .7750 with multis at 4.0 to match what c&Q was doing. I was surprised I was able to take the voltage so low without incurring any troubles (yet). Stress tested a little and it seems fine. Having it that low won't damage anything ya? With these settings the core voltage fluctuates between .768 and .752 at 803.5 mhz with 4.0 multiplier.Edited by mega0ptimus - 10/5/09 at 5:21pm
