Go back there and tell his boss that he "touched" you.
If that doesn't work.. slash his tires and paint ATI in red on his windshield.
Salespeople like that really piss me off.

W T H ? Being nerdy usually means you are supposed to know things about stuff, so I'm not really sure what category this kid falls into.

As far as reliability, I've been running a mix of AMD and intel machines at work, TBH I've had to replace the intel machines more often for hardware failure, although I don't have a large enough sample size to make a meaningful judgement.

While I prefer Intel at the moment, I've never heard anything about either of them being "unreliable" unless those words were being spoken by some random fanboys... like this

After making your "Gaming rig that won't be used for gaming so don't recommend AMD please" failure of a thread, I want to kindly ask you to DIAF.

I think part of it is the experience AMD had in ~2001-2004 with having to choose between a horrible AMD motherboard chipset or later the NVIDIA counterpart, which was variable as well, since nForce3 was such a mess. I'm sure another big part of it was that Dell didn't use AMD chips at all until around 2006, and Dell is a huge brand in most companies.

I think Intels offerings are much better right now in the dual core range. I still prefer a e7200 over a x2 550 any day of the week.

I however dont know why anyone would buy a Q95XX Quad from Intel, they are a ripoff that are finally going down in price.
The Phenom II is a much better value
