Thread Starter
ok well i want to replace the stock fan with an LED one, ive opened it up and the fan wiring has all been soldered onto the fan and the board, and there are four wires.

would it be ok to just chop the wires and plug the new fan into the motherboard?

Nope - that's a PWM controlled fan. You can't replace that one with just anything.

Don't see why it wouldn't work, although I would do the effort to connect the new fan to the PSU.

If you were really savvy enough to do it. You wouldn't be asking a forum if you should do it.

So therefore, I say unless you have an experienced friend to do it for you and you watch. Don't try it.
