Help me build a $900 budget i7.

Thread Starter
This local guy is asking to buy my 720be rig for $900 very soon in 1-2 days so i guess i have $900 to spend on the new build. I want to buy it fast because of the double cash back atm. So please help me to build a $900 i7 comp (i don't need the monitor, keyboard n mouse). If it was not possible, then used parts are fine too i don't mind. I'm in AZ so i'm nowhere near microcenter to pick up the i7 for $199 . I really need some inputs.

PS: If $900 budget wasn't enough, then i guess ill have to go with AMD again. . Rep+ for all the helps. Thanks guys...Oopps i think i posted in a wrong forum >.<!

i7 - 270
foxconn blood rage - 220
DDR3 1600 - 100ish
Hard drives - 100 ish
PSU - 650tx corsair - 100
CPU- megahalem - 60
Case - CM 690 - 50 shipped refurb from Coolermaster.com
OS - you obviously dont have to worry about it
GPU - 4890 - 160 with bing cashback

Total: about 1000$, point is it's gonna be pretty tough to do with 900 unless you're willing to sacrifice graphics, which based on your last build, you aren't.

Think about putting together a Q9550 build, I recommend it to everybody since I really think it's one of the greatest chips ever (and the best I've ever owned - I've had a lot).

I could sacrifice the graphics and go with the EVGA or BFG 260 for now i think. It could save some money, then i can uprade it to better one when i get the cash back in 60 days within the trade up programs. Double cash back atm is quite a bit from $900.

That 4870 is pretty much equal to your GTX 275 anyway. Plus you can CF them later for cheap.

I'd guess the GPU you could go cheap on for now and get a better one later down the road. (Like you said)

I was going to buy a budget i7 build awhile back, it just wasn't worth it to me to buy the cheaper parts around a good CPU. It's like holding it back.

If it's just for gaming, considered an X4 965 for when it comes out?
