i would change the CPU heatsink to something a little more capable along with the case. Especially if you have a high end graphics card.

Case is okay though, definitely upgrade that cooler if you plan on OC'ing

I would also get 6GB of RAM, (3x2Gb)

Your friend doesn't have an X58 Asus mobo, I believe...X58 motherboards run in triple channel so a setup with 3 sticks of memory is ideal. Nice looking build there.

I say if you can afford it and there is a decent deal get 6GB of RAM just to play it safe. If you want.

Thanks for your help! Its £40 extra to get it up to 6gb of ram. Made up of 3x2gb cards. So i shall upgrade to that!

It be fairly easy to get the pc then upgrade the CPU cooler?(sorry new to hardware never really changed hardware) just where getting the pc from doesn't have any decent coolers they just have water cooling kits for £200.

Couple Quick question which would you say the better motherboard was. Asus Rampage II Extreme (Intel X58)or Asus P6T Deluxe OC Palm Edition (Intel X58) price is £3 different!

And are the Intel i7 920's better than the Intel Core 2 Quad Q9650

Thanks you your help and opinions guys! Much appreciated.

My suggestions:

Get the windows 7 RC instead of paying for vista, then get an antec 1200 with the savings. You then have a few months to save another $100 for the full version of windows 7.

Good suggestion. Although I might get the HAF 932 as i prefer the look of it.

Thanks

Yeh the 932 is crazy. Good to hear that you have chosen 6gb as well, definantly need that sweet spot with the i7.

You gotta upgrade the CPU heatsink though if you plan on overclocking. On that note, if you want to overclock you need that rampage as well.

Installing aftermarket CPU coolers is really easy mate. Normally the quick install guides that come with the coolers is very straightforward. The best way to learn is to try and I can assure you, unless you smash the cooler into the motherboard on purpose, you have an extremely low chance of stuffing up an install!
