Well as the title says, I am in dire need of an upgrade. So the budget is between 500-900 dollars excluding os hopefully... would like to use for video gaming/watching stuff on netflix.com and possibly blu-ray (possible future upgrade). but yeah if you can help me cheers. if not cheers anyway. oh and i know this is hard to do but i would like to be able to keep this system as long as possible. also would like a quad core cpu if possible if not then a duo would work just fine.

Looking good, would it overclock well? if not what could be done to expand that option? and if so then awesome will definitely talk to the wife about that.

You should be able to get the Q9550 to around 3.6 or so on air if you get an after market cooler such as the TRUE. The board has RAID capability and the P45 chipset overclocks well. Great board.

Yeah, for what it's worth i'd say that looks like a strong build.
Liking the case choice as well
good luck
