[NEED HELP]Windows 7 Wont get past logo screen

Thread Starter
Windows 7 wont get past its logo screen after installing watercooling. I tried a 3.9 ghz overclock, and then got a blue screen, as expected. It did get into the desktop though, and said something about system driver. Windows 7 will boot up into safe mode, but not regular mode. I tried reinstalling the operating system, another hard drive, another hard drive cable, different ports on motherboard, tried switching out memory, i cant think of anything else to do. What happens is it gets past the logo screen, and then goes black Please help.

it could be that some of your mobo settings got changed after your OC? Maybe AHCI or something like that got disabled?

I dunno, I'm really confused by this. try running memtest , also try doing a secure wipe of your drive.

check that everything is connected properly

also resetting cmos sets everything back to default as you know so make sure you put all your settings back the way you want them, disable power saving etc

Which version of Windows7 ?

I'd try it with the latest one (which I won't name because I'm not actually suggesting anything.....)

reset all speeds to stock:

reinstall windows, Vista or XP what ever you have, update, install drivers
overclock, stress test, and problem solved

seems to me that Windows 7 has been corrupted due to overclocking, it can happen
