[Official] Lancool Dragonlord Owners Thread!! - Page 132

Hello all. Been lurking through every page of this thread and finally decided to post! biggrin.gif Bought the PC-K62 a month ago for my first custom build. I plan on ordering all the components in my system info next week...will post pics when it's done! Excited! biggrin.gif I have the guts of a 2-year old HP in there at the moment and this case just devours it!

I've read several posts about air flow for this case and was wondering if anyone has tried both flipping the top front fan to exhaust and adding a second intake in the front (with both top fans as exhaust). Which method worked out best for temps? I tried flipping the top front fan and noticed it seemed to get louder. Anyone else experience the same? Thanks! businesssmiley.png

By default, the two top fans are configured to exhaust air from inside the case. The general airflow pattern like many other computer cases is: air comes in through the front, and out the back and top.

Also, adding a second fan at the front definitely helps airflow. I think most people, including myself, accomplish this using zip-ties. But anyways, enjoy your case

Hello, I want to buy this case but I have a little question:

Some reviews says that every fan have a 3 to 4 pin molex adaptor and some reviews says that you only have one. My new case have just 2 3pin connectors so with the adaptor I will be able to use just 3 fan.

Thank you.
mine came with 4 3 pin to molex adapters (already connected to the fans

i'm going to be adding some kingston memory fans and a sunbeam 6 fan rheosmart soon, and maybe some water cooling far in the future

I've seen a few posts where others have used zip-ties or rubber bands...will definitely give it a try. I tried changing the front top fan to exhaust last night and didn't seen any huge difference. This is with an old HP inside the case though. Maybe it would do better when I have a decent cpu hsf inside? Either way I think I'll add a second intake in the front. Thanks!

Thanks wtRiViaL

Another question:

somebody with a SSD 2,5" with 3,5" adaptor? (Better if is the Corsair F60). I read in a review that the 3,5" adaptor from Corsair can't be used with some screwless cases. The screwless system of the k62 seems to be awesome so I hope that my SSD can be inserted perfectly

No need for an adapter. There are mounting holes for the SSD on all the HDD trays; if that is what you are after.

Hope this hasn’t been brought up in this thread before, can’t really read through 130+ pages…

I have a K62 and I’m having some issues with ventilation. Not sure what the best setup is. I’ve flipped the top fans around so they’re now intake; my CPU and motherboard temps have gone down significantly, mainly because it’s feeding fresh air straight into my H70 fans. However, it seems like it’s just creating a dead spot at my video card. Any suggestions on air flow setups for this case that work better than the default configuration?

Also, I got three new 140mm fans for the top and front intakes. They’re Aerocool Sharks. They move A LOT more air than the normal fans, but only when I have the top panel off. As soon as I replace the panel the airflow seems to drop back to the level of the original fans. It seems like the vents at the top are really limiting the amount of air that can get in or out. I’m thinking it might just be the design of those fans that doesn’t play too well with the case, so I’m probably going to exchange them for something else. Anyone have any suggestions for better 140mm fans that are known to work well in this case?

I'm adding two 120mm fans to my case so a 140mm and 120mm at the front for intake and I'm putting my hard drive cage back in then adding a 120mm on the other side of it from the 140mm fan. Then the top 140s are exhaust and the back 120mm fan has the H50 in push-pull, exhaust (not intake because I have a rear exhaust graphics card; I would have it as intake if it were an internal exhaust graphics card)

I would suggest against turning the top fans into intake fans. Like you mentioned it causes an odd airflow pattern and you would be letting a lot of dust in your case from the top. Also, one thing to consider is that warm air rises and those top vents are the most likely to pull out that warm air if those fans are in an exhaust configuration. I would suggest adding a fan at the front of the case in the 5.25" drive bay cage to help feed air to the area near the top of your motherboard where the ram/cpu sits.

Here's my configuration.. hope it helps and sorry about the diagram's quality

BTW you don't have to add that second fan in the 5.25" drive bay like I did, I just prefer it that way.
