Is the 120mm noticeable difference to the 140mm that's right below it?

I saw a member of some other forum place the 140mm at the top drive bays, because there is some room apparently underneath the lip, and it allows you to put a CD drive and a fan controller in the middle drive bays, above the 140mm fan at the bottom.

I was thinking about doing something like that eventually. biggrin.gif 120mm fans like Scythe Gentle Typhoons will pull more air through the mesh but will produce more noise. Nothing terrible though; biggrin.gif I'm using a Noctua and at 100% (1300 rpm) it's quieter than the stock 140 but isn't the greatest at pulling air through the mesh.

I'm making some changes in the next couple weeks (cutting out rear 120 grill and removing 120 fan, replacing top 140 with another ty-140 as intake, etc) and will post some pics. Going for true positive pressure. thumb.gif

Here are some pictures of mine

I’ve had it for over a year and its housed pentium3, 939 and am3 builds, excellent case to work with. I was able to install a rs240 radiator, sandwiching the case between the radiator and the fans. A little risky but its been fine for nearly a month.

I used to have the radiator at the bottom but wanted the hdd cage back.

Well I'm pretty sure this isn't the most appropiate thread to ask but... I couldn't find anything closer!

I'm building a new system and after having considered most brands I chose Lancool.

However, I'm undecided as in my local supplier I can't find all models, so I'm left with those:

First Knight
K57 - 61 €
K59 - 75 €
K63 - 95 €

Dragonlord
K62 - 83 €

I understand First Knight is "newer" but I can't find as much information / reviews / opinions in general despite being in the market for... 8 months I believe?

The new feature about the First Knight is the front USB3.0 port which is nice since I just bought a USB3.0 external HD but... I can live without that.

Many people still get the K62, so here is my question:

I don't really need side windows or LED fans, but I do appreciate silence. Which one would you say is best bang for the buck?

I had almost decided K59, but having the K62 at only 8€ more... What would you suggest?

Thanks in advance

If you don't want a side window or LED fans, you could look at the K58 as well. Currently on sale at newegg for $60 with free shipping:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112237

Compared to the K62, it lacks only the two 140mm exhaust fans in the roof, LEDs, and black interior paint. (The particular model listed above is windowless, but there is a windowed K58 as well.)

Compared to the K59, it lacks the 2nd front intake, side fan mounts, and USB 3.0 port. (Personally I think the Dragonlord models look a lot nicer, too.)

Sadly I don't have the option for a K58 in my local supplier (I am not from USA, hence the € instead of $ tongue.gif)

I had already considered the possibility of the K58 (which is the Dragonlord version of my almost-choice K59) but it's out of stock and they won't resupply.

Then again, I think the most reasonable options would be K59 or K62. (as I said, 8€ more in the latter, which is not at all a huge difference).

Eventhough I said I "do not need" windows, that doesn't mean I don't want them, I'm only saying they are not a requisite, but I'm OK with it * (actually my last build had a thermaltake windowed case)

*As long as having a window doesn't mean MORE noise coming from the case, which I'm not sure... I care about the sound level so I would sacrifice aesthetics in order to get a quieter case.

Thanks for replying!

You can put me down on the list. I'm doing a water cooled build. Check out my work log. Plenty of pics in there.

quick question guys, does the Lancool K63 USB 3.0 connector has internal connector or you have to re-route it to the back of the case?
