take a look how much RPMs your stock fan/s have. tho i have the 120s with my K56 but they're that lazy i thought and so i opted to replace them with a higher RPM/CFM ones from Cooler Master. much better now imo.

most stock fans(comes free with the chassis) are weak afaik, xigmatek's 140s looks much better. i have the Cooler Master Silent Fan with 60.9 CFM in my ODD bay for intake but the Xigmatek has 63.5 CFM. go for the Xigmatek.

There's a promotion going on atm so I can get them for 30% off. Goin to give em a shot since it's well within what I can afford. If they don't work out I'll be able to try different fans later on down the road. For the price a little better than stock is good enough for now.

EDIT:Eh, nevermind. I was only considering this fan for the rebate which many have reported are still waiting on after 6 months.
Yes they would, I have one of those and the crystal series works even better, that's what is in mine.

Right on. I'm ordering a couple 140 and one 120 for the 5.25" bay. $30 for three fans is pretty good and hopefully will help out a little.

the 140 would fit either at the 5.25(ODD bay), mount it with zip ties

Yep. That's how I installed the 120 Noctua that's in there now. I'm going to use foam this time and see if that helps airflow and any extra noise from the new fan. I may still try to put the TY-140 that's on the top in the ODD bay. I'll post some pics once I'm finished.

Alright so here's what I ended up doing. Ordered a couple 140mm Xigmatek's that were on sale on Newegg to replace the top front intake and the fan in front of the HDD cage and moved the TY-140 to the ODD bay. Airflow has noticeably improved as a result and the noise of my rig is now a pleasant air moving sound. It settles well into the ambient sound level of my apartment. Very happy with the result!

glad to hear that
and hey... i like your idea about that foam/buffer by the ODD bay

btw, i cant find that Xigmatek's 140s locally... i was thinking to add one more in my ODD for a push pull config with my existing(lousy) Cooler Master's 140. or i'll play around if a single 140 with much powerful RPM/CFM would suffice.
and i came across with this from AeroCool

Lol, using the foam was easier than zipties on the bottom half of the fan. I know a few other OCN members who like the Sharks. If you can't get the Xiggy's I'd say try it out.
