Haha, that was the first thing I thought when I moved into the 650D. Still miss my K62 though. thumb.gif

Hey guys,

I own a PC-K62 and am having trouble in removing the frontal fan out from the case for cleaning/swapping etc.

Image above is only for illustration purpose / I do not in anyway own the image...

Didn't get much info from Googling.

Anyone who has successfully gotten that fan off their case mind assisting?

Thanks! smile.gif
Hey qubec2, welcome to OCN! thumb.gif

The easiest way to remove the front fan is to first remove the HDD cage. There are four screws on the bottom of the case and one more screw on the bottom of the 5.25 bay. You can remove it with the HDD cage in place but it's way more work and not worth the effort IMO.

Hi everyone and OP,,

I have k62 red. it's been a year that I used h80 cooler inside.
Now I wondering to get h100i to support haswell later,
so can k62 hold it in 'normal' way? (not breaking some metal)
Not sure but the plan is put the fans on top like normal, then the rad inside the case, right below the metal surface. I haven't measure it but hope it (rad) fit without get contact wit ram,, Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
thanks biggrin.gif

The H100i uses 120MM mounting points, and the two fans in the top of the K62 are 140MM so you wouldn't be able to stick an H100i in there without some modification i'm afraid.

The H110 uses 140MM mounting points though, so it may well fit, but i'm not entirely sure if there is enough clearance. You would need to do some measurements smile.gif

oow just realized that h100i also 120mm.
So the h110 will be the right choice now

yea i think with same 140mm mounting point it should fit nicely for pull configuration. The main concern is clearance now, I saw the radiator height is about 3cm (29mm) hope it has free space there biggrin.gif
One more think cross my mind because i never touch h110 either h100 for real..
The 140mm fans may be installed smoothly up there, but how about the radiator, it is a one piece stuff which has built with mounting holes, I don't know all holes position match with case mounting holes there rolleyes.gif

I calculate about this because this mounting configuration is different, the fans and rad are divided with the metal surface (case),, since the common way that the fans and rad are inside the case = impossible in k62 without metal surgery.
Last but not least,, it'll block 4+4pin psu cable hole .. but I think it's okay if still fit the thick of cable redface.gif

oh btw this is my k62 Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I recon an H110 should be OK with the fans in the top in a pull configuration, the only potential issue I can see is as you say, getting the CPU power cable in.

I will be putting a W/C loop in my K62 soon with a GT Stealth 280 in the top of the casing where the 140MM fans are currently, and two 140MM fans inside the case, pulling air down through the rad/exhausting air up through the rad.

I'm hoping that I might be able to route the CPU power cable around the side of the fan, but i'm not sure...

Lol, lots of small movements back and forth. Took me several SEVERAL minutes to get it out. Then I noticed I could have just removed the HDD cage.... doh.gif

Honestly it's so much faster to remove the HDD cage so just do it. biggrin.gif
