Try using telnet instead:

Your router might not have a webinterface (at least not on the standard port). What router do you have?

its a linksys WRT160N... I have logged into it before man, I configured the wireless not long ago... now I can't access the admin feature

Have you tried HTTP-Secure? So https://192.186.1.1
Once, I set my router to only be accessible over https, forgot that I did that, then took a week trying to figure out why I couldn't log in.

Try powering down the router,modem & pc.
