I would say 6800XT Because it can unlock, well a chance.

But Truthfully, they are about equal in performance.
Also keep in mind: 128bit (6600gt) vs 256bit (6800xt). And there are no 6800le's left in the price range they had before (current ones cost the same as the 6800gt!!).

omg. It uses the 6800/6800GT/6800Ultra architecture , which is superior to the 6600GT architecture.

And for 6600GT, the 6800XT CAN NOT unlock. And Super optimized? eh what?

Good lord people! The difference between those two is going to be ~5fps, just pick one. The 6600gt is not uber-optimized, they just have it running at 500MHz+!! an nv40 can't do that.

The 6600gt is a good bet, they usually oc nicely. The 6800xt is unknown; you'll be pretty disappointed when (if) it doesn't unlock.

Just get a cheap 6600gt, xfx usually tops the OCing charts. Make sure you get a vf700alcu at least. $20some on jab-tech.com If you get the 6800xt, the cooler looks alright, you may want an nv silencer (6?).

Good luck. Order soon you won't be disappointed with either one...

Well I'm not going to order one any time soon, maybe sometimes in the future when I actually have the cash. But the 6800gs just blows both the cards away, and not to mention how much more $$ it is. I just wanted a competition between these 2 cards to see (as ouroboros said) which one would get 5fps more in games.
