I suggest just getting the 6800 and getting a tv tuner later down the road, even though i am a ATI fan, just because you will get performance from the 6800 rather then the AIW.

My max gaming resolution would be 1024x768 and I will be running games like far cry, nfsu2, nfs mw, half life 2, ut 2004, fear & doom3. Would the 6800 really be that much better or would it be 5-6 fps better than the aiw?
BTW would like everything at max settings.

Probably only about 5-6 better.

But most of the games you mentioned use SM 3.0, which the X800XT does not support. Doesn't mean you can't run the games, just means you can't run them with SM 3.0, which makes everything look nicer.

I am just inquiring, how much nicer like a whole lot nicer or just a little nicer?

300$ could get you a used 6600gt a cheap mobo and a new processor practically ... well if you went amd

If you arent going to use the extra features of the AIW dont spend the extra money.

How much are you planning on spending for a 6800gt? Ever thought of looking for one of the connect3d x800 ?

Thanks for the suggestion but I won't be going pci-e for a next year or so and I don't want a 6600gt. About connect3d x800gto, I don't want to buy it and then it doesn't unlock.
