just read neuromancer- an amazing glimpse into a realistic future
followed by captains courageous by Rudyard Kipling- a total blast from the past about a young rich boy learning how the world really works

both were amazingly well written, and i have just begun reading captain blood by Rafael Sabatini (pirates)
