I have read about a third of the book, thus far. It is a good read. I feel, though, that it would be a better read if he were more detailed about his escapades.

So I found out last weekend there are no New-Books stores in Coles County. I've visited three used book stores but none had Ghost in the Wires.

I could see this, but I suppose he might be bound by law not to get too detailed.

Um, I was a bit vague. He is pretty descriptive in how he did things. I guess what I meant was the lack of details about things more mundane. I guess what I mean is that as Biography I expect more information about the subject in general.

About half way through and it's getting very interesting. The book has moved from the toilet to the sofa, for longer reads.

On a less morbid note
grishka, I hadn't recognized you with your new avatar tongue.gif

Anyway, Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Anyone figure out the meaning of the sentences at every chapter?

The prologue is amazing, I love imagining this older guy being hoisted into the ceiling tiles. What a great way to start the book!

I started out liking Kevin and his antics, but as the book continues and he doesn't get much more elegant than lying to people, he reminds me more of a child that tries to get an adult frustrated.

Still forming my own opinions, but that's where I'm at.

Any ideas for our next book?

Chief, I think you hit it on the nose regarding Kevin. I feel the same way. I was on vacation over the last 10 days and left the book on the back of the toilet.

As for the code at the intro to each chapter, no I haven't deciphered it, but I haven't given it any thought either. I have intentions on trying after things settle down some around here.

As for the next book, here is what is next on my reading list, I think.

Damned, Chuck Palahniuk, 2011, Horror/Thriller
Quote:
The author has described the novel as "if The Shawshank Redemption had a baby by The Lovely Bones and it was raised by Judy Blume." and "it's kind of like The Breakfast Club set in Hell."

I really need to find a book that keeps my interest enough to finish reading it. Lately, that hasn't been the case.

Has anyone got hands on Year Zero by Rob Reid? Going today for some book shopping and was wandering if it's any good.

I <3 Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Douglas Adams book. Seen many recommend year zero to it fans.
I'm not sure tho, if I like ice cream it can't mean I'll like very ice cream smile.gif
