Please Review/Critique My New Build

Thread Starter
Hey guys, It's time for me to build a new computer (had a little $$$ left over from scholarships) and I'm limited to about 1200-1300 dollars, excluding the OS and mouse. I've been browsing on newegg as always and I was wondering if yall could offer me your knowledgeable insight on what to stay away from, alternatives, or a thumbs up

Case
Thermaltake
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811133056
Antec
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129043
I'm leaning more towards the antec, not only because of the price but also because of the number of 5 star reviews it recieved. I also like the idea of putting the PSU at the bottom of the case, however I do not know if it offers any real advantages.

CPU
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103471
I read that the Black edition was recommended because of its easy overclockability.

PSU
I am in the dark here, I'm not quite sure what I need that isn't to high up in the price range but can still support the upcoming GPUs like ATi's 5000 series.

Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130223
I've always had good luck with MSI boards, I figured why stop now. Plus it can support up to Crossfire4x, although I highly doubt I'll ever use that.

RAM
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227365
Not very familiar with brands of RAM except G.SKILL, but I figured 6 gigs of RAM will suffice for at least the next few years of the PC.

Hard Drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136320
Western Digital, need I say more? I don't need a ton of storage.

CD/DVD Drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827151188
Not quite sure here, good price, pretty good reviews.

Monitor
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824001317
Since GPU's are getting more beastly every few months, I finally wanted to branch out of the 17 inch monitor world. Not quite sure which resolutions are supported by the cards coming out nowadays, but this monitor looks fine.
EDIT: Now I'm looking at this monitor as well
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824009163

GPU
I think I will wait till september when the 5000 series come out, If I dont get one of those at least the prices will have dropped for the 4000 series, right?

Thanks in advance for the help guys.

The case is overkill, you don't need a big one like that unless you are gonna expand the crap out of your system
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...090007%204802&

For 1200 budget, might as well go for core i7
If you're going to overclock, add an aftermarket CPU cooler
And you should wait for the HD5000 series cards

Yeah go i7 920 or phenom II 955. If you want the easy overclock go with the i7 (so i'm told)

Yeah indeed if you go i7 and you want to overclock super easy then the bloodrage is as good as it gets. But if for some reason you want 6 sticks of ram and 3 way sli then you will need to pick up a asus or a EVGA.

Don't buy Phenom II 940. It overclocks poorly and only has ddr2 memory controller. Go 955, it will overclock higher and can support both ddr2 or ddr3.

Thanks for the info guys.
I was thinking about this for my CPU Now: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131381
And for motherboards what about this one? It's considerably cheaper than my original, has good reviews and still offers PCI-e 16x 2 slots.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131381
EDIT:
I also changed cases to a Mid-tower.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146047
and i was thinking this PSU looked pretty good.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371025
Also swapping out that 6Gig ram for some G.SKILL ram, lower price, better reviews.

The First link is a motherboard seems you mixed up a link.

The Case looks fine but i would suggest this for a mid tower case.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119197

The Ram looks good and the power supply seems ok aswell.
