duplicate files

long story short i got a new computer, and downloaded software that transfers music from your ipod to your computer. i tried a few programs before but they had weak trials that only transferred 100 or so songs. in the end i had almost 1000 duplicate songs...i have to get rid of these. not only do they take space up on my hdd but it makes adding files to my itunes library hell. i got a dupe eliminator but it only deletes them from your library, not the actual files. so how can i do this?

ok imo make a search for music only then control click every song with more than one of the same song title then after you have them all highlighted just hit the delete key. be careful to not unclick it when you do this or you will have to start over.

it might seem like a lot of work but i bet you can do it in 10 or less minutes which i bet you have spent more time doing in googling a solution

no way that would take way longer than 10 minutes lol...i have almost 6000 songs that i would have to go through. i found a program called "duplicate finder". it works fine, but it took a few hours for it to delete 200 songs lol. keep the ideas coming though, anything that deletes faster then 200 songs per 2 hours
