Xbox 360 Elite Jasper?

im looking to sell my PS3 (40gb) and get an Xbox 360 Elite, but i want the new jasper xbox. so my question is, do they make Elites with the Jasper chip? I previously owned a 360 (pro) and had to send it in 3 times to fix (RROD) so i got tireless and sold it, now i miss my 360 and want to get one, but want to make sure the RROD doesn't happen, looks like my best best is the Jasper Xbox.

All current 360s are made with the jasper or whatnot, better heat sinks, but still crappy fan. They have been like that since I believe 2007. correct me if I am wrong.

You are correct. They didn't put the fan directly on the heatsink so the fan has to work extra hard to get that air through that duct and out the Xbox.

And to the OP: IIRC, all Elites are Falcon. I'm not sure if they are making jasper ones. If there are stores that still carry pro's you can get those (almost all of those are jasper) and I think the arcade is also too..

EDIT: If you really are desperate for an elite, then just get it as Falcons, although not as RROD-proof as Jasper, are still hard to get RROD's on.

No elite has jasper that I know of.

They are just coming out now I believe. Up until recently only the arcade version was a jasper.

Xbox I'm on now is a jasper (arcade) and it runs soooo much cooler that my original elite. The exhaust is warm but it's not HOT like the elite was.

My zephyr/falcon? chipped 360 premium is crapping out on me again after an RROD replacement (unfortunately, only having crashes/lockups, no RROD so 3yr warranty does not apply). I am looking to get an elite with jasper chip.

Can you tell me what is the manufacture part# on your elite?

Like said above, ALL Elites are Falcons, not Jaspers.

Until I can go out and look at the new boxes to see if they improved the console, we have nothing to say except that they just moved the consoles into a new bundle and packaging, as the Elites have ALWAYS been Falcons.

Edit: Also, the RE5 Red Elite was the only Elite that was ever a Jasper.

If you decide to go pick one up, check out the hole that the serial number is visible in, and look at the top left corner of the console. Try to see if you can see a 12.1A on the console.

If so, then the Elites are indeed Jaspers, but to my knowledge they are still Falcons.

Ah, the resident evil custom version? My bad, wasn't thinking. Yeah, just saw buy.com had an elite for $300 bucks (awesome deal if its a jasper), but of course, don't show any info on the power rating or manufacture date. I guess I'll try emailing buy.com to see if I can get any more info out of them, but otherwise, I guess I'll just go get a 360 arcade with jasper and keep using my crappy 20Gb drive with it.

I'll update if I find out anything more on the buy.com deal.
