$5000 i7 build [parts] - Page 6

Almost forgot, I need a hsf, so which is the best for i7? Megahalem?
If you're going air, Megahalem is the way to go. With a budget like that, I'd recommend venturing into watercooling. It's fun to do and works well.

Currently, Ltulod's old Trifire 4890 rig (which now belongs to Ati4Me, or something like that) is beating the Tri-SLI 285 rigs that have been put up against it. Unless you are going to be doing some insane gaming in 11 days, I'd wait for the 5000 series to drop from ATI. Get two 5870's unless they release the 5870x2 at the same time. If they do, grab that... or two

I would personally go with air-cooling, as it requires much less maintenance and honestly, if you're a gamer and don't want the hassle, is the way to go. So yes, Megahalems with a push-pull setup. And again, with a budget like that, definitely take advantage of it and go for the i7 950.

Yep and I think their at stock 925 core which isnt even OCed all the way so yeah OC the GTX285 and the 4890 can OC right back and beat it.

The 4890's are the Diamond XOC Edition by the way (Same as mine )

But yeah the 5870 is going to be able to beat the 4870X2 and is a tiny bit slower then the GTX295 which is a 2 GPU card. So get the 5870's when they come out man you wont regret it.

I've had a number of coolers before I got the Megahalem (Ocz Vendetta II,Noctua NH-U12P and watercooled for a while) and the megahalem has been the best I've had so far, so I'd recommend it personally.
