Leave Allocation Unit Size alone - the default 4KB is a good balance between not losing lots of space when tiny files are on the drive, and having it so small it degrades performance.
FAT32 is more compatible. Win 98, older linux boxes and MacOS can read and write FAT32 without trouble, but NTFS is a superior filesystem if you're not worried about writing files to the NTFS filesystem on older systems or Macs.
