Need help with MSI OC, can't OC over 230HTT

Thread Starter
I got an Opty 146 CABye and i'm trying it out on my cousin's MSI Neo Plat. 2, he's got a 480W dual rail PSU unit.

Ok, so I've been overclocking with pentium but first time overclock with an AMD unit and I could use some help. I read some guides they just tell you the basic stuff but not all apply to certain boards. So here's my problem

memory is some kingston 1GB value ram, i know its crapy but I want to find my max CPU OC, i can run the Mem at 133 if i need to.
I set the memory to 166 divider at the time of 2.5-3-3-8 and 2.75V

but I can't go over 135HTT x 10 even when I bump to the 1.47V on the opty. I am using the stock cooler abut temps were at around 48Load when I had it at 2.5Ghz.

So what seems to be the issue. What other settings do I need to change?

i'll be checking this thread frequently and following up.

Thanks
Mo

the HT is at 4x, is that what you meant? i dont even know what HT is, i didn't touch it.

Its PC3200, I've oce'd the ram to 235 before memtest stable so ram isnt TOO bad

speed fan shows the Idle temp at 36. thats with stock cooler at 2.0Ghz

on these cpus, the htt times the htt multiplier shouldn't equal more that 1000mhz. that could be your problem.

on a dfi the setting is called LightingDataTransport/FSB ratio if its at 4x youre golden up to ddr 500 speeds if your memory can support that speed, if not set a divider that allows the memory to run at its rated speed and set it at its rated timings... if you could list the memory your using it would help

ok for example if your htt is set to 250 and the htt multiplier is at 4 then your ok (250x4=1000) but if it was at 250 and the multi was at 5 then that would cause some trouble (250x5=1250). so be mindful of that when your upping the htt.

Ok got it. Thanks logan.
This seems to be the issue. I set the Cpu volt at 1.40 in the bios and all i see is 1.34 in speedfan and cpuz. it seems like changing volts is not even doing anything.

Also, if the AGP speed is set to 66 does that mean the agp/pci lock is on at 66/33?
