A little different than what I've been used to but not too bad.

Okay, so I got my hands on an Intel Xeon E2650 ES with a bclk of 1.6 ghz. I'm going to use a rive as my board with 2400 mhz quad

channel memory.

I have never owned a Xeon or overclocked 1 so I'm in the dark. Is it basically the same ? Not much online so far for the questions I have so

I thought who better than OCN folks to get me on the right track.

I will likely just try the usual method, just wondered if there are some additional settings that should be done with a xeon.

If the multiplier isn't unlocked then unfortunately it's likely you'll only be able to up the BCLK to around 111-113MHz or so and that will be your overclock. You've just got to hope that the CPU is unlocked basically tongue.gif

AFAIK the process of overclocking is the same, weren't most Xeons just normal family processors with cut out integrated graphics? thinking.gif

PS: Ah, yes, @ObscureParadox is right, but again - most Engineering Samples are exactly samples with removed limits, so the multiplier should be unlocked. Crossing my fingers thumb.gif

Yup keeping an eye out on this one, got an ES 2011 CPU coming myself that I'm hopeing will be unlocked. If it is then expect some big things from me on the bot with the dual core side of things wink.gif
