Hey thanks everyone for your suggestions, I'm gonna put a link to this in my sig so I can get more suggestsions, the x800gto2 is a must, I think its an amazing value for what I can do with it. I might just get 2 of those 300gb maxtors, and raid 0 them. and get some of that ocz while I'm at it. I'll consider that powerstream, however I thought about buying an antec truecontrol or something to that nature. Heck if I could get one I'd buy that hiper type R or whatever it is....

I highly disreccomend any PSU other than the OCZ unless you went with a PC Power and Cooling for pure performance. The OCZ is the best money can buy (other than the PC P&C) and a PSU is something you don't want to cheap out on. Just my $3.50

OCZ Gold and DFI motherboards act like this together. , meaning they dont get along and many people have trouble when mixing DFI and OCZ Gold.

SO, here's me budget : 2000 at most, I really don't want to make him spend that much, but I might be able to get him to go as high as that, so stay around 1400 to 1500 at least... maybe more for the monitor...and stuff, I'm lookin at a whole system. and I put it in the amd section, since I game and you guys will most likely recommend amd.

Oh, and if you would, give me links to stuff thanks everyone
When are you planning on building it or did you graduate at Winter Semester?

Nah, OCZ doesn't even make power supplies. They pay ToPower to make them and they've been having some problems with reliability. I'd get Seasonic anyday over OCZ. (Fortron also) Here's a review showing the 600W failing...

I'm glad to see people plug in stuff here and there, thanks remonster etc. I graduate in may, its my senior year at high school, class of '06, I'll be the first in my family to graduate, well from my mom and dad, and my brothers and my dad said he'd buy me the stuff to build my own computer. So, here was a thread dedicated to people like you helping me out with my new parts, I have a rough idea of what I want, but I don't get to play around with the technological awesome crap, I only have 2 pcs, and they're what I fool around with, and they're both p4's under 2ghz
