I understand players that haven't played RS for many years then come back to try it and there is just soooo many new things and people get very confused and quit, but tbh if they just give it more time like a month or so they'll get used to it quick.

That's my issue right now, so much has changed with these added abilities and everything else that I actually need to dedicate some time to running through stuff again. Maybe just run through all the quests to get used to the interface and whatnot.

Most updates is easier to understand than most probably think, like ports ect. and for ability bar you can just use http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Revolution and turn on revolution.

I'll give that a look when I'm on RS next, still paying for a membership and barely played. Still playing a good amount of LoL and not really much else.

Stumbled across this thread yesterday afternoon, decided why not, Ill download the RS3 Client and pick the game up again. Its been a very long time since I logged in(Pre-RS3 era), and wow, the gameplay has changed immensely. I somehow remembered my PW to my account that I had years ago, and it is still active, but now trying to familiarize myself with the game is quite the learning curve. Im half tempted to start an alternate character just to get the fundamentals down of the new system.
Any tips for a player returning after many years? Or any guides that are good to look at to familiarize myself with how everything works now?

It was definitely quite a nostalgic moment loading up RS last night and logging into my old character with a friend of mine. Definitely something I will be playing in my downtime from Elder Scrolls Online.

Welcome! biggrin.gif glad to hear people giving the game another shot, I'd recommend Dungeoneering for starters just because you get to try out the new combat triangle and see how effective each style is vs eachother and you don't need to risk anything!

Also check out this series of videos https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFpVVocxnIo15Y3_w6ekLG3QJsnnitQiT, don't need to watch all of them but mostly the basic ones about the interface and maybe some other that interest you.

+Rep for you Sir! thumb.gif
It looks like I gave Dungeoneering a shot when it first came out(Lv 6), but I havn't been on in years so Ill definitely have to pick that back up. Ill also check out those videos and see whats going on there. I honestly was impressed to see the improvements that Jagex has made over the past several years, while still retaining the core style that Runescape has always had. Just gotta remind myself that I have to click to walk still lol, Ive gotten so used to being a WoW/ESO Player that using the mouse to move is foreign to me again.
I may still register a 2nd account for re-learning the game somewhat, but in the mean time if anybody wants to add me on my Main my username is bwe45.

They have it separated now so free world stuff takes up free bank spaces and mems stuff takes up space with a different counter. That plus the increased bank space from when I was noob is really helpful. Also, there are a ton of cosmetic things that you can discard and easily replace as well as some cosmetic overrides where you can make yourself look different from what you are wearing. Then you can toss out some of the cosmetic gear in bank to free up space.

I've been noobing it up on free worlds semi-AFK while web surfing. Same name as here. I would be willing to spend one of my bonds to go mems if other people make a group.

So I was digging through my old archive of CD's and DVD's and found an old Runescape folder with my old Marco Typing tool, the original runescape.exe client from when it use to be optional and the only way to play at school, and this wonderful image.
