p4 3.0 hit a wall at 3.5? - Page 2

You sure about that? My vcore is 1.5 at 3.49. I'm afraid putting it up at 1.6 might do some sort of damage.

woah there! you running prescott or nw? your at your limit if its prescott and dont go higher on the voltage... also have you locked your pci freqs? Your ram is gonna be a limiting factor here... it looks like you've reached its max point and i would bet your gonna get better performance keeping it at fsb of 234 with ram running at 468 (im assuming thats what you had it at before it went unstable). If you decrease the divider simply to pump up the fsb your gonna take a performance hit and in the end it may look cool to have higher clock speed but if it dont perform faster whats the point?

prescott...and my ram won't run any higher than 200mhz with my fsb being at 236. I'm still not sure it's stable all of the time at 236 but i'm waiting to see if it is. And my agp/pci is set at 66/33

set your RAM at 320 in the bios. The tell me what your temps are. Don't go over 1.525 on your prescott unless you have water cooling. What cooling are you using anyways? If its stock you might want to upgrade.
What are your temps? Also what is your ram rated at? What kind of cooling do you have?

Also note that you cannot PM anyone untill you reach 20 reps If you need to contact someone you can send me the PM and I can forward it.

i set my dram frequency from 266(the lowest setting available besides, auto)to 320 and my computer booted up in the windows classic style interface instead of windows xp style. So i rebooted and set my dram frequency back down to 266 and i rebooted and the same thing happened, windows classic interface instead of windows xp. I know how to change those settings but that shouldn't be happening on it's own. I restarted again and now it's working fine. Could this mean my computer is still unstable with my fsb at 236? My temps are 50C idle and 58C load...the ambient temp inside my case is 27C. My ambient room temperature is 25C.
