58 is pretty hot! but right at the limit for a northy. Is it a prescott? Also running at a devider should have taken care of that. maybe you have a chip that doesnt like voltage. Try turning the voltage down to 1.45 -1.48 and up the voltage on your ram to 2.95 and see what happens. How new is your hard drive. The switching between classic style and xp style sounds like curruption in the OS.

I had all kinds of software problems that dealth with windows when i put my vcore down to 1.45 such as windows not being able to check the license verification correctly, starting up with the windows class interface...norton antivirus telling me it's expired when it has a whole year left on it, and it's telling me it's not installed or has corrupted files..it was unstable all the way up to 1.5000...it's probably still unstable right now but it just hasn't crashed yet, lol.

I know that one time I cleared my CMOS to reset some bad settings, and forgot that it also resets the system clock!

That will cause windows to do some weird things, especially with expiration notices, if it boots up and thinks it's January 1, 2001 (or whatever it defaults to). May want to check that out!

yeah, i've done that too, byt my bios and windows settings are all correct though. I'm beginning to believe it really is a short in the board, or a bad chip.

yes, and in some cases, a website that requires correct date and time will tell you that your clock is wrong, and will ask you to adjust it.
