Parents sue WoW over son's death - Page 3

I'm sorry but people who get that addicted need to quit now. I mean I am on the computer alot but outside of that I am a sponsored skater and have regular social activities.

Sad, but funny in a way as well.

Not funny at all. This is major problem in China and other oriental countries like Japan. I forget the figures but something like the leading cause of death for 14-26 year olds in China is suicide. They kill themselves because they fear letting their parents down in their studies and their accomplishments. I'd say it's a problem with their society.
Suing blizzard though is just BS. How they could use their son's death that way, it's disgusting.

Yeah, I hate idiocy, and this is one of the "better" cases . I know I let my parents down a long, long time ago. But does it matter if I am smarter than them both? I just didn't care and still don't . What I do is for me, and call me selfish, but I don't like poeple, especially stupid people, in my way. I love my parents and respect them but I hate interference. I could sit and watch a river until its turns were larger and its pools deeper.

If you are addicted to video games that much then you need a high dosage of n00b. Your addiction will be cured once you are pwned hardcore by 8 yr old n00b.

Speaking of video games, I saw a great t-shirt in Spencer's Gifts . It was something like, "20 things not to say when beating your friend in a video game" or something like that.... My favorite was, "I need a real challenge.... GRANDMA, GET OVER HERE!" I wanted to pick it up, but I had more fun with my shocking pen .

K, first I must say, like everyone this is BS blah blah blah.

Then I must say that there HAVE been cases in America with MMORPG deaths. I did a report on it for school two or years ago about EverQuest. I will admit I was addicted. I would play 4-6 after school, neglecting homework just to play. During summer I would usually play 14-16 hours per day, though the longest I even played at one sitting was 26 hours. I will also say though, that I don't regret a minute of it...Yea, I neglected hanging out with friends etc, but it was honestly some of the happiest times of my life....Sad, I know, but anyone who is/was addicted to EQ knows how amazing of a feeling it is to accomplish things in that game.

Now I play WoW, which personally I don't find at all addicting. I would have quit weeks ago if my friends hadn't urged me to keep playing it.

The case of death by EverQuest I recall most was a mild skitzophrenic (sp??), 27ish year old guy who put a shotgun to his head after his EQ wife broke up with him. Like most of the other cases his mother sued Sony, and I believe lost the lawsuit, as it should be.

Personally my parents saw that it was just a phase and told me that "It's your summer, spend it how you like". So I did. My mom was even so nice as to supply me with a 12 pack of mountain dew ever couple days.

And that's why I love my parents so much...

Notice most of these things happen in the Asian areas... back on track, I don't think it says anywhere in the game to "Re-enact for maximum playing fun!". I say the kid deserved that death.
