Sound Issues In Game

Thread Starter
Hello there.

Hi there, ever since I updated my motherboard to a Asus K8N, my sound on Final Fantasy XI has been quirky. Now Iv gone and bought a Creative Soundblaster 24BIT External. And yet it still does what it does. What it does is when in area's of game where its harsh on graphics it seems to distort the sound and crackle.

Now this never happend with my old motherboard (PC Chips Via Chipset) and I used onboard sound with it.

Any suggestions on how to solve this quirky sound issue??

Iv de-installed my Realtek sound drivers when I got the soundcard and installed the Soundblaster Live! 24Bit Drivers. Im really stumped why this would happen.

Did you reinstall windows? It is always best to start with a clean slate every now and then, but even more so when you change your motherboard.

Last week I switched motherboards over and when doing so I also installed a new windows when I placed the motherboard in.
It is starting to get quiet fustrating because I kinda dont like playing this game without sound. Hmmmm.

ill post a screenshot and get you to point out what I should disable. But the sound issue only happens in Final fantasy XI and, when ever the game start loading parts or stutters time to time sound also does, with old motherboard it was fine. I think it may not be streaming correctly.

well, it seems i made a mistake and you dont have an onboard audio. try updating your drivers and try find out what that ? thing is. Also, see if you installed everything that came with your sound card.

I think I fixed the problem. I de-installed all sound and vidoe devices and re-installed them. Seems to be fine.
