display rate

i always thought the 60hz rate of my monitor was a constant...that it was locked there and could/should never be changed...

well i just found a drop down bar somewhere in controlpanel/display/settings that lets me jack it up to 75hz... now i'm a vsync guy, so.....this perks my curiosity because this means that i could actually make use of those extra frames i can crank outta my GPU

will this have any adverse on my last standing crt monitor?

(the "hide all settings my monitor will not support" checkbox was checked, and it still listed from 60-75)

If you have vSync enabled then, yes raising your refresh rate should help. As long as your monitor was correctly detected, then 75hz would be better. Even while not gaming a higher refresh rate will be easier on the eyes. You will only damage your monitor if you go above its rating.

That's not high, really. I run at 120 hz. It really depends on your monitor. Lower refresh = fatigued eyes

awesome!!! you guys rock socks!

i always play with vsync, and for my overclocked 6800gt, in this cold ass house (allows a bit more of a clock for me) being limited to 60fps because of vSync was bothering me....

and to think, i just only came across this by chance while messin around with all the pretty neat little buttons in the control panel.
