FSB and Hypertransport?

Thread Starter
As the system i'm planning to build over the next few months is AMD, i wanted to know if the FSB and the hypertransport speed are the same thing? So far i have bought only the mobo which is the Gigabyte K8NF-9. It has a hypertransport speed of only 1600mhz. Could someone please fill me in on these details please?

They're basicly the same thing. AMD just calls it HTT instead of FSB and Intel just calls it FSB instead of HTT.

i would also like to ask what is the lowest multiplier for a 64 3200+. And, if you increase the htt to the max possible for example 800mhz(on the K8NF-9), but have a multiplier of 2.5, will it be any hotter or require more vcore than it's stock 200x10?

AMD64's are unlocked downward so the 3200+ having a 10x multiplier, anything below that would be possible. As for the second question, even if you could set a 2.5 multiplier, your ram will limit you. If you're setting a huge divider then there's not really a point to use the lower multiplier.
