I know that you can use the same steam account to log in to CS:S LAN from multipul computers, so I was wondering if you could do the same with BF2. Thanks in advance!

I don't think so...you need the disc to play BF2.

You only need the CD to start the game, from there you can pull it out and pop it into a different computer.

You can make multiple accounts on BF2. They can even login the same time. They only restriction is that they can't join the same ONLINE game at the same time.

LAN works fine though.

once you have it installed you can use a disc image (which can be found at gamecopyworld (this legal as long as you own the cd) But I don't know if its possible to LAN on BF2, can somebody PM with the details or post it here. I own a copy of BF2, but I really want to lan with my other computer.

I'm not sure if this is what you're asking, but yes, you can LAN with two computers with the same CD key in BF2. If you don't know already, there are no bots like in 1942 or BFV, it's a little trickier in BF2.

You can only play 16 player maps in COOP, and to get the two to connect you have to do the following:

1. Get the server computer to start a multiplayer game.

2. On the second computer, go to Find multiplayer LAN, and when you see your other computer, stop there, and don't touch anything else.

3. On the server computer, disconnect the multiplayer game, and start a single player game.

4. Once the single player game is loaded, click on the server on your second computer to enter, and it will enter the other computer's single player game.

Connect to IP may work if you've got an online account, and are connected to the internet, so you wouldn't have to "trick" the second computer into joining the server's single player game, but I've never tried. Using an online account with two computers with the same key at the same time may get you banned for all I know, even if you're not playing online, so try that at your own risk.

There is a COOP Mod available here:http://www.fileplanet.com/155873/150...-Coop-Mod-v0.3 that will add bots to larger single player maps.

Sorry for the long post, trying to be helpful, BF2's LAN multiplayer is a bit of a sore point for me.

Yeah I have the WCC mod that allows you to add the bots, So I start the server, then leave it,and join it? Do you use the dedicated server thing? Could I just start one in game, them stay in it (like Halo?)

You don't have to use dedicated. If you wanna play COOP, start the server so that you can see it on the second computer's browser screen. Then disconnect the server, and start a single player game on the server, and just join it from your second computer like it was a multiplayer game. Make sense? You'll have to have the mod on both computers active obviously.
