For roughly $900-$1000 Canadian what is better to get?

An Xbox 360 full package with the hard drive + a decent sized non HDTV television.

or

The best computer that can be built for that money?

If you have $1000 Canadian to spend, use it on your rig for upgrades. You could pick up a decent 21" monitor for about 450, $300 for a better video card , a tv tuner for about $50 and $200 for games if you are so inclined.

I guess it depends on your perspective. My main rig is worth about $2300 new and my second rig about 1600. For $1000 if you need a monitor, its tough to build a decent gaming system. No monitor you can do it with the plan for upgrading in the future. The Xbox is a pretty amazing gaming console but for all its bells and whistles its still a gaming console.

The question is 360 or PC now, no waiting.

From now on if anyone mentions the PS3 or Revolution I will have to report you
post #8 of 55
PC, because you wont get all the good games on an xbox/ps3/revolution, and im sure you could get most of them for the PC that come out on xbox because theyre by M$...

A pc will look 10x better anyways.

I vote Xbox360...

I love PC-Gaming, Wouldn't have it any other way, But sometimes there just those days that you'd rather be snuggled up on your chair/couch playing a console, And Xbox360 seems like it WILL be the console of choice for the Nex Gen. systems.

For 1000 CAD get a X360, cuz you won't get near matching the X360 graphics with a 1000$ comp. Now lets say, 500 for a xbox, 500 for a tv ( you can get a 20'' HDTV like mine for 500-600 depends where you buy it ) so it really depends on the deals you can get.
