I have mentioned it in more then one post, I would be getting most of the money from selling this computer...

BTW, if I get a computer, it will be along the lines of a

AMD 3700 San Diego
1GB Dual-Channel PC3200 ram
X800GT
Stock cooling
and the rest doesn't matter

And Jori, I have an HDTV downstairs, it is just more convinient to have it in my room. Plus I can probably find a good deal on a smaller HDTV with that money.
NVM, get a computer

OJX...why not wait a bit until after christmas? ask for some money and you could go over budget...and build a better pc, if youre getting most of the money from sellin this rig, wait until before christmas and sell it to him, so then youll get all the money at once and you could order it like christmas day or something?

Im just giving out ideas here , just sounded like something that might work out .

Before Christmas time:

Western Digital 160GB S-ATA
Ultra Dragon Glossy Red ATX Mid-Tower Case
Ultra X-Connect 500w PSU
Crappy ancient 15" or less non flat CRT monitor

After Christmas
AMD Socket939 Athlon 64 3700+(2.2GHz) L1=128K L2=1M 90nm
PC-3200 Dual Channel OCZ 4001024V25DC-K

Western Digital 160GB S-ATA

See the difference? I have it all planned, I consider everything and put it into my equation

Could I make a suggestion on the motherboard? I think if youre going the ATi route, you should get a crossfire board...why? because I believe that nforce4/3/2 etc boards are created to be more effective with their respective card...nforce = nvidia crossfire = ATi...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813136165

that would probably be the best board until if your heart is set on ASUS, wait until they come out with a crossfire board, the crossfire is basically an nforce4 just optimized for ati...

Err ***? Nforce is MADE by Nvidia, and works fine with ATI cards. The ATI chipsets are MADE by Ati, and work fine with Nvidia cards.. Just to clear that up.

Not only that, that board is $190 American, the one in my post is $120 Canadian, I think I'll stick with it The only difference might be me getting a 6800GS or a X800GTO2
