I am going to build my first new computer and I was wondering if you all would recommend a AMD Athlon 64 3000 2.0 ghz 512kb) 754-pin cause it was at a very good price when I went to check at a store... Or would you recommend somthing else...

It depends on what you are going to do. How much are you will to pay, and what games are you going to play on it, if you are going to play games on it at all?

But, that is a decent CPU. For gaming, I would go up to the 3200+ at least.

Of course, by all means get what suits you. That will be a plenty powerful CPU, and for the price, you can't beat that. How much are you willing to spend total on this computer? This will give you a good range of what you whouls buy.

O, no, $600 is plenty to get a nice computer, especially if you buy thet parts at www.newegg.com. They have great prices.

$600 is plenty, esecially if you all ready have a keyboard and mouse and monitor. Those are the most right there. If you have a PSU, then you have half the battle of a new computer.

Now, are you going to be using any parts from you old computer...eg, HDD, RAM, PSU? Or, are you buying everything new?

Hmmm, that posses a challenge. You would have find out a site/store where you can good parts at good prices.

For you, a 450W PSU will do plenty for you. It shouldn't be terrible espensive either. I got one that is 550W for 79.99, so, 450W should be a bit less.
