3700 sandiego > 300Mhz? - Page 2

The 1000MHz mark is not something that translates into performance. That thing is nearly meaningless, you barely see a bottleneck on 1x with 200MHz. However, >1000MHz is often unstable...the whole focus with the HTT is stability; it's just a pain.

How I wish I knew DFI (nf3 at least) likes Auto on the LDT mult...270ish max turned into 320ish max Too bad I have valueram.

Check the mobo manufacturer's website to see if you have the most updated BIOS. They may have a newer version with a fix to your problem.

Typically the Asus MBs will, under Auto, default to DDR333 when 4 modules are installed. 1:1 is when you are running DDR400.

So you can set something lower and DDR200 is good to help you find the max of the CPU then you can wind it back up.

You will prob. also have to bump the Vdimm (DRAM) voltage as there are 4 modules to be driven

no @ 200 its running at normal speed, this is what im saying, if i were to run it @ 400 it would never boot w/ 4 sticks

I was trying to help you. You're claiming that you've been able to boot your motherboard with a fsb of 300 but do not know how to run a divider. If that is the case, then you're claiming that you're computer booted with your ram at 300 mhz. I'm asking you how this is possible??

Best reread what I wrote .. DDR200 is actually half-speed and, again, with DDR333 this is normally the default with 4 modules.

Suggest you check the modules individually then in pairs and see where they get to under stock DDR400 ratings .. then add the four back and recheck at DDR333.

Good Luck

yes i already did that, all 4 boot fine @400 in pairs, i assumed booting at 200 was normall since both channels are being used and combined they reached the speed of one.... if thats not true then why would it default to 200, and refuse to boot at 400

i have limited experience with this board, ive only worked with it once before, and it was for someone who didnt need to overclock, the last two boards i had had just a normal selection w/ ratios
