Alright, i got my Asrock dual sataII.

Everything is good besides this major porblem.
The Bios can see the SATA hard drive in the main Sata channel. Thats good. BUT when i boot from the windows XP cd to install XP, it can't find any hard drives???? what gives?

Why cant windows detect a drive when its showing at bootup and in Bios.

help please.

Did you enable (or maybe disable) the sata ports in the bios. My bios detected them, but I still had to enable the ports lol... look for the settings in something like "Ide function setup"... thats what it was in on my dfi

well, did the mobo come with a RAID Driver disk? if so. you need to use that.

During windows installation it asks for third party RAID drivers, and to press F6.

Well thats what you need to do w/ the raid drivers in the floppy drive, after that it should automatically recognize.

What lightsource said ^

I had the same problem building a system for one of my friends. It wasn't RAID, but since it was a SATA drive on a RAID controller, it needed the driver disk. Just make sure you select the Serial ATA one for WinXP, since a lot of driver disks come with ones for IDE and other OSes as well. Good luck

got it. actually. What happened was that the RAID mode was ON in the bios. Turning it off took care of it .

Thanks
