Not bad at all. Prescott's the best temperature to keep it under is 65c, which is when thermal throttling starts (processor will underclock itself to prevent burning up). It's doing just fine.

I see many other members keep their temperature below 40C! How can I do that to my CPU?

they get new cpu coolers like copper heatsink and put AS5 on the cpu (Arctic Silver 5, which is the thermal paste you put in between the CPU and heatsink to make it conduct the heat to the heatsink so the fan fan blow that heat away making it cooler.

You have to replace your stock heatsink, but seeing as you have a compaq it may not work becaue a lot of manufacturers use proprietary parts making it almost impossible to modify anything with aftermarket items.

However, if you replace your stock heatsink you will get temps around the temps others have reported. One thing you could do in the mean time is remove the stock heatsink and replace the thermal compound with some Arctic Silver 5 or even Thrilla's compound. That should net you at least a 1-4c drop in temps.

you could also open yoru case and look if your mobo supports extra fans, or if you got molex connectors free , these will help to keep the temp in your case down, which means your CPU can disperse its heat easier
