Impressive credit man, no wonder you are one of the 700 in the WORLD
First off, welcome Mike, Dream and Darius - good to see new members...and no - Millionaires abound, come one come all!

Lol, thanks man - you guys ain't seen nothing yet. Fermi should be here tomorrow. honestly - it's been tough justifying the upgrade - but I collected a mesh of gifts, tax money (small, small portion), and hidden stashed dough to bring it all together(one lucky night in Keno didn't hurt either).

It's a worse addiction than gaming that's for sure.

So, the Dragons are officially broken up. I've decided on keeping the Crossfired 5850's intact at 16X PCIE lanes (it's just soooooo nasty - OC'd I get REAL close to 5970 benchies)....and Fermi will reside in my daughter's computer downstairs in the living room.

I'll certainly be testing out CUDA apps soon (tomorrow night) - so we'll have Grunion's thread handle the Nvidia side starting tomorrow.

Anyways, go for it Grunion...I think that would be cool - let her get her own RAC and all that, and of course see if she'll be willing to join the best team on Earth of course...

Speaking of...

So, the reason I decided on Fermi downstairs was from a standpoint of eventually convincing the wife (eventually, this might take a few months) my daughter would benefit from 3D upgrade (sell the TV, grab 120, then the kit plus extra glasses)...lol.

But if the card is loud it might be exiled to upstairs into the rig.. and I don't mind breaking up crossfire there....BUT..

So you guys using both brands (Grunion, Bal3wolf) - I have a question that I've searched for everywhere and can't find a decent answer to..if anyone you guys might have answer.

So, everytime you see threads about ATI + Nvidia on same Win7 board - it is seemingly always from a perspective that Nvidia is not the primary display - and used for Physx or Folding etc...)...but I never see anything about using both brand as the primary or switching between the two..

So...What I'm asking is if I swap the plug the monitors into the other card - would that be the only way...or can you just tell Windows which one to use per monitor (ie say use my 24 with Fermi to game and then use the ATI simultaneously on the side on Milkyway)....and then I get bored...

So then I replug the monitors into the 5850 and vice versa, that possible?

Check it out. Proposed to make a boinc-a-thon to raise awareness for our boinc team and distributed computing in general.

It should work fine you probly will still need to run the physx patch sence the drivers would still see the ati card even if its not the main card.

2 Big BOINC news from BOINCstats

2010-04-13: World Community Grid - End of Nutritious Rice for the World project
World Community Grid is pleased to announce, that as a result of the generous contribution of computing power from our members, the Nutritious Rice for the World project finished on April 6, 2010.

2010-04-12: PrimeGrid - First ever AP26 Found!
The search is over. A World Record AP26 (Arithmetic Progression of 26 primes) has been found. The finder is Benoãt Perichon [AF>HFR>RR] Jim PROFIT) of France. He is a member of the L'Alliance Francophone team. The AP26 progression is written as 43142746595714191+23681770*23#*n for n=0..25. It was found by a PS3 running Linux. For more details on this find, please see this forum post.Congratulations to everyone who participated in the AP26 Search. It has been a very challenging and rewarding project. Also, a special thanks to all the programmers who ported AP26 making it the most accessible project at PrimeGrid.
Note: there will be no more work once the queue is empty, so we would like to ask people not running for the badges to stop running AP26 subproject and give a chance for others to reach their final levels.

Thanks for updates guys - I'll definitely not be afraid to try.

That primegrid thing is SOO cool...PS3 on Linux, son of a .....and here I was always ragging on those consoles. Really does show that every little bit counts, because you never know what will put it over the top.

Must be Skynet.

I've been posting Fermi temps (high 90's on Collatz) on Grunion's thread.

Which, Coincidentally saved me $300 bucks last night.

Post of temps and how the 470 saved me money:
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/7086...ml#post9053784

Edit 1 - SOOO close to 1M in a day.....The Collatz's were running all night on Fermi - that should push us over the edge... previous night's work on Einstein probably didn't yield us the needed creds to push us over.
