I just recenty got a hold of a 6800 made by FXF. I personally know of five people who have bought these cards (six if I incluse myself). All of which were able to unlock the card to 16/6 using Riva Tuner. Also, when I did my pre-purchase research, I found two websites with instructions on how to unlock the 6800 using FXF cards and were supposedly successful aswell.

Mean while I know one person who got a eVGA 6800 and got massive artifacts when he tried to unlock the extra pipelines. He was able to leave the extra shader open, but hasn't seen any performance gain what so ever from it.

Any way, if you are looking into vanila 6800's...I see a good trend with the FXF cards.

I have yet to benchmark or really even really OC my 6800 or rest of this new system, but I hope to get that done over the next few days. I did use the "Detect Optimal Frequencies" which told me to up the clock to 357 and the memory to 770 (which I then put at 380/800 ) and it is running fine so I may get some more out of it.

Gaming terms I haven't had any crashes or artifacts, but then I don't have BF2 (yet), but I was getting 75ish FPS @ 1024 x 768 in FarCry and 65ish in Doom3. Those FPS's were also very consistant. I upgraded from a ATI 9600 Pro...so those scores about knocked my socks off.

edit: oops I see you are discussing the pci cards...lol this is an old trusty AGP
