Why can't you all get it through your heads that a PS3 is a stronger system?
The cpu architecture on the PS3 has 8 Cell processors that do FPU work and a Dual/single(unknown?) 3.2GHz Power PC chip. The Cell processors are DEDICATED to FPU work while the Xbox barely has one core (I say one core since 2 cores are dedicated to graphics, and basically one core is left that's already being used to run the systems OS). Like Yiffy said, having something dedicated to do a great job is better than having something do multiple "O.k" jobs.
The video card on the PS3 is similar to tradional videocards like the 7800GTX, 6600GT, X800GT02 et cetera with each vertex shader and pixel shader having its own pipeline. Xbox yet again fails to have dedicated components, using a 48 pipeline "unified" videocard, sharing the vertex shaders and pixel shaders in the same pipelines so that the core needs to decide which is needed when, taking up a huge amount of time. This causes a drastic performance drop. The power of this videocard is no greater than a 6800 Ultra, and thats saying a lot. Sony said the PS3's videocard is stronger than two 6800 Ultra COMBINED.
The PS3 also has the Blu-Ray drive. I know a bunch of you flamers would get mad by me mentioning this again, but here it goes anyway. The blu-ray drive allows for a massive amount of storage, longer games, and higher quality textures.
You need to understand that it will be for another 5 years at least before another gaming system comes out, and 5 years can go a LONG way with technology. Years later when developers decide to pack more data into those games, Xbox 360 would basically have a storage cap, while the PS3 would be releasing games that are longer and better for the consumer.
I don't know what Xbox's video-out connection is, but I'm sure as hell it isn't HDMI. And as some of you know, HDMI is byfar the highest quality video standard for TV's, DVD players, cameras, and professional videocards.

But what I don't understand is why you're all argueing about something that HASN'T BEEN RELEASED YET. Already, we have people judging the console as if they've been playing it for years. And it's not like it'll be a long time until it's released, there's one more month left. So that means one month to keep your xbox 360 flamer pride, then it all flushes down the toilet
Jeesus christ your being so dense.. Blu-Ray wont help! They just compress data anyways, and I doubt to hell that game makers are going to be able to make a storyline liike Square-Enix does which CAN take hundred+hours!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cell_(microprocessor) Cell processor. Its way too frigger hyped, unless a game needs that much floating point power then its practically worthless. And Unified Shaders are the way the graphics industry is going, and the Xbox 360 GPU and the RSX are basically tied. And even if they arnt, its not about the power; both are adequare enough to power a game. More power does not directly equal better IMAGE QUALITY... You Sony-lovers are basically just looking at the paper specs and judging it on that, then totally disregarding other consoles. Ok.. Im done for now.

Its just some system using a bunch of slave cores and a master core. What jori said.

So also not that if I get any system its going to be a PS3... And the processor is good. Its still alot of speculation though on how it actually runs.

The only thing I argue is that the ram on the 360 isn't as great as it could. I still don't like the idea of shared ram. ... GDDR3... Shared ram...
You also have to keep in mind that Jori is 14 years old with no education of FPU processors, let alone Cell processors that have never been publically released until the PS3 (Which is still not released...)

Yes, good point. I forgot to mention that the memory in the Xbox 360 is ALSO shared, yet another thing microsoft failed to make dedicated.
Even the specs show the PS3 is a better system, yet you all babble about and follow Jori's word. Why is that?

Do you know why the Oh so great AMD company hasn't produced the Cell processor? Because, in the mommy and daddy world, there things called "patents". When something is "Patented", another company cannot steal that idea/invention or else it would be deamed illegal.

Dude screw you. Im 15. And your the one who said it was impossible for AMD's to get like 3.2 ghz . Get over yourself. The Cell processor is a good idea for things that require floating point power, but in the gaming world its hard to code for and hard to utilize that floating point power. Im sure eventually they WILL get something right with it, but that will definatly be later.

And I still love how you said i have no education on the cell.. What are there classes now at school for it?
