Another Case Recommendations Thread...

I need a case that:
  • Is black, and will look good with blue LED's inside.
  • Has a side panel window.
  • Suits a DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D (Front USB, Firewire, and Audio).
  • Is big enough to house several fans and a big typhoon.
  • Has a front panel door.
  • Is not to pricey (I think $100 is the max I want to spend on it.)

Thank you very much =)

Blue Chieftec Dragon! I have one and it's awesome. Huge and you can fit all your stuff. Looks great with my DFI board and blue led fans!

Thermaltake S-Viking has all the points you mentionned and it also comes with a hardcano on the front bezel so you can monitor your case temperature and dual fan speed controllers for both 12CM exhaust and intake fans.
It's also a solid case as it's made of steel but this makes it a bit heavier than Aluminum cases. So it's a bit annoying to carry it to lan parties.

Check it out at: http://www.thermaltake.com/xaserCase...bwssviking.htm

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I've settled on a case. I've changed my whole outlook, and am going to get the Lian-Li PC-7 B Plus. It's about 89 dollars on newegg. My plans are to add a side panel window(which I found pretty cheap by googling it), a Lian-Li brand temperature monitor, a sunbeam fan controller, and a sunbeam light controller. Hooked up to the light controller I'll have red and blue cathodes, so I can change the color of the case.

I realized that a front bezel door will just get annoying for me.

Nice case, I was about to suggest its brother the Lian-Li PC-61, which is the same except for the fact that it has two 80mm intakes in the front as opposed to the one 120mm that you have. However it's 110$.

That's why I like Lian-Li, they don't have doors, which would just get annoying when changing an optical drive. Sure you can just always leave it open, but then what's the point of having a door.

It also doesn't have front firewire or audio, which I would like, and I don't want to have to waste a 5.25 or 3.5 for. What I do like about the PC-61 is the removable motherboard tray, which the pc-7 does not have. I don't exactly know how useful it would be though, because this will be my first build.

In your opinion, how are the Lian-Li stock fans?

Thanks for your input.

Although you've stated that you've made up your mind, I have to jump in and also toss my vote in for the Chenming Chieftec Dragon. It comes with a clear side window and also a side intake fan feeding onto your cpu fan. It has more room inside, better cooling and has the front bezel door. Since you're wanting a light controller and fan controller (both which light up), I think you'll want this for times when you don't want your room illuminated. The door can be removed in 2 seconds without any tools or hassle if you decide it isn't necessary, but I think you'll change your mind after using your computer for awhile. As far as a removeable motherboard tray, this is only useful for the hour that you're building your machine. After it's together, it's not a feature that will prove useful. The Chenming has removeable hard drive and floppy cages,so it gives you a lot of mod room if you decide to change your configuration. Btw,it does have a front audio panel, usb, etc. Anyways, just my .02
