cons
cpu socket position problematic for some cases
vdimm mod requieres trace cutting
SATA ports 1 and 2 are not locked, use slots 3 and 4 (closest to the cpu)
issues with ram slots 3&4 not working very well seems to work fine for some people
cpu temperature reading not working correctly seems to work fine for some people
doesnt like ocz eb
Perhaps this will help. It is in reguards to your broad. I found it by googling "MSI Neo2 Platinum sata lock". It was like the 3rd one down the list

Wow thanks a lot, i can't believe i missed that link!

I'll try it,

One question before i switch it though:

If I were to shut my pc down right now and switch the wires, what would i have to set in my bios to allow me to continue my array without formatting?

would i need to go to the raid setup and redefine it?

once again thanks a ton!

Nope, you'd do nothing at all! It will recognize them automatically, I swap my SATA wires routinely just to scare my friends its a funny trick. Do it to someone else's computer and just say "Oh, I think we should just stick these wires over here... lol!"
