ASRock 939 Dual SATA II BIOS OC options help

Thread Starter
Ok, i'm having a bit of trouble getting started overclocking. I can't find the HTT multiplier in my BIOS. I stated my problem in another post, but it was in another persons thread so I don't think anyone saw my question. This is what I wrote:

"Hi, sorry if this is random but I saw you have the same board as me (ASRock 939 Dual SATA II) and was wondering if you could tell me how to change the HTT multiplier? I've looked through all the options in BIOS 1.4 and I can't find anything other than the RAM timings, CPU multi, Bus speed, and some options for NB and SB frequencies (ranging from 200MHz to 1000MHz). You obviosly know what to do, can you help me out please?"

Along with all of that I'm curious to find out how to lock the PCI, AGP, and PCIe speeds at 33mhz, 66mhz, and 100mhz respecively. Another thing I'm a bit fuzzy on is ram timings. Could someone please clear these things up for me? Thanks!

Yah, fill out your profile! Anyways, I've been browsing around here for a few days to check out how well the dual sata-2 will oc since I've got one coming in the mail From what I gather, you'll want to flash back down to bios 1.2 for it if you're going to overclock.

Alright, I've overclocked it to 220MHz HTT so I have 2475MHz clock with my 11x miltiplier and a 4x HTT multiplier. When I go to 225 it is not stable, but at 220 it is stable in prime 95 overnight. I heard people can get it up to 225 easily on stock air, why am i having so many problems with that?

are you using the maximum voltage at 1.45?
Plus people are easily overclock on the Opterons on stock air. I am not too sure about the amd 64 3500+

You might need to do the volt mod, its easy. Ocworkbench.com
Also you will need to flash a new BIOS , 1.2 Official or 1.3beta from OCworkbench will do.

The agp is locked so dont stress over that. If you are using PCI-e leave it at 100mhz.

that'll give you 1.55vcore

Settings I use
Htt x3 or x4 either up to 260htt
The htt is the NB to CPU (600 = 3xhtt , 800= 4xhtt , etc)
Ram divider , if you have the cpu at 240mhz and set the divider to 166 you will have the ram running 200mhz. Start there, its easiest.
SB - NB 1000
16bit everything
ram high
on the ram keep the last digit in the timing at 10 i.e. 2-2-2-10 or 2.5-3-3-10
Async with PCI-e

If i forgot something just ask, can't think straight right now

Ok, I'm at BIOS 1.2, my ram is at 166 by default and I'll try that volt mod out later. What kind of clocks would I be looking at with the volt mod done? Do you think it would be worth it to upgrade to a better cooler or will stock get me to, say, 2700MHz with the volt mod?

Download aida32 or some temperature monitoring program. As long as you aren't getting over 50 it really doesnt matter what cooler you are using.

On stock my temps go from ~30C idle to ~40C Load. That's what I don't get, I hear people say it should be fine till 50C but mine crashed at 40C when it was OCed to 225. My video card does the same thing, it is 34C idle and 52C load, but I hear people with the same card who are in the 60s. Maybe my temp monitoring is wrong, I'll go get the one you said.
