read some reviews and see what other people are getting, every processor is different, not to mention the cooling and how much volts people are using and even where they live and climate has a lot to do with it all.

Cooling, YES, and I see you have "Ha ha" in your sig so first of, you may heed a good FHS to OC the 2800+.
The Thermaltake Volcano 12 is a great inexpensive unit!

How? Well you can start by reading this guide. It has alot of info, so make sure you have some time to spare, after you read the guide ask questions on what you are confused about and yes, if you don't have very effecient cooling you wont want to overclock very much.

i agree with duke, xp's are notorious for running hot, so its important to get good cooling. if you need help with what kind, ask us and tell us the price range, cause theres a couple good ones. your mobo should be fine, so you can farther than my 2600+ did which is at 2266mhz. if you need help just ask.

I have the same chip (if its the barton core) and with slightly better cooling you could easily push to 2.3ghz. I have a very limiting psu, so with PC3200 ram, decent cooling and a decent psu you could probably push that thing to 2.4ghz (maybe 2.5ghz) You should look at POGE's guid to unlocking the barton chips, as long as you have thermal paste (you will need to remove your heatsink and replace it)

agreed, my 2600+ will run at 2300mhz, and i have a VIA chipset. plus your multiplier is higher, so you should be able to get 2400mhz.

I think Im stuck. I have a t-bred. 2000+ xp 12.5x 133. Using stock cooling it runs stable at 12.5x 175. 176 is stable to, but doesnt always post. Anything higher wont post. I got the voltage at 1.78. and I have ddr 400.
Whats up, why am I stuck? Is it the cooling?
