Two question for you :

1) With my noctua, temps seems be OK for you ?

2) a i7 920 @ 3.6ghz is large enough in order to play ?

Cranking it up here with i7 860 and EVGA P55 SLI!

To anyone going 1156, EVGA P55 SLI/FTW is the way to go!

wrong. It'll shut down @ 100c and it will throttle @ 86+. How do i know? I've got my CPU to 99c before it shut down, so I'll take it's 100c.

And, where are your sources for 120c? Intel's TJ max is 100c for most chips, and....

Read section 6.2.2 of Intel® Core™ i7-800 and i5-700 Desktop Processor Series and LGA1156 Socket Thermal/Mechanical Specifications and Design Guidelines.

Specifically referring to the operation of the #PROCHOT and #THERMTRIP signals.

The #PROCHOT activation temp can be read from the CPU, commonly 99 deg C for LGA-1156 i5/i7. (You can find out where to get this from the Intel® 64 and IA-32 Architectures Software Developer’s Manual Volume 3: System Programming Guide.)

#THERMTRIP activation temp is not readable, but various sources agree this to be about 20 deg above the #PROCHOT activation temp.

If your system starts throttling before the #PROCHOT activation temp, then this is caused by your motherboard, activating the signal externally.

Only if TM2 and TM1 fails, but yes, it could shutdown at any point on or after the #PROCHOT activation temp.
