Intel Core i3/i5/i7 & LGA-1156 Club & Discussion - Page 27

Suicide shot!
Stability shots below this one.

i5 750 @ 4.4 GHz w/ 8 GB G.Skill Ripjaws @ DDR3-2200 9-9-9-27.
I still cannot believe i got all 8 GB that high!

Got 4.15 GHz stable...anything over 4 GHz starts really requiring big vcore bumps.

Can do either 21x198 or 20x208 LinX 25 passes.

The weird thing is performance numbers between the two speeds.
I suspect some major subtimings are being lowered that i cannot see.

21x198 (slower RAM) is better for LinX GFlops, better for MaxxMem, & better for Everest copy.
20x208 (faster RAM) is better for SuperPi & Everest read/write.
I'm going to have to investigate further.

21x198 (4158 MHz) DDR2-1980 9-9-9-27

20x208 (4160 MHz) DDR2-2080 9-9-9-27

That's nice and pretty much the same results that I have. From 4.1-4.2ghz, it starts to need a lot more vcore.

Now I need to start messing with the memory timings.

Yup, looks pretty familiar.

Of course i'm finding P95 to be pretty much useless, as i can pass it at over 4.2 GHz with less vcore than LinX @ my current 4.15 GHz...

Weren't you running blends? I've been running the small fft's and it's given me several errors up until the current vcore. One notch below got an error 4hrs into it.

Blend is just Large & small mixed/alternating.

I find LinX shows me CPU instability much quicker than P95, & Large doesn't seem to show crap all for this platform.

I'll give linX a shot tomorrow and see how things go.

I have found an issue while trying to fold. I honestly haven't done much other than overclock and run P95. I tried to get my gtx 260 to start folding, but as soon as it starts up, the system is slower. Just dragging a window is slow and leaves a trail of windows behind. Once I stop folding, things are back to normal.

It's not driver related, as I have rolled back to drivers that I know worked well.

I don't really fold anymore but I have pretty much the same setup as you and completed a unit the other day, I didn't have any lag while folding. I'm still using the 182.85's though, I've had problems with pretty much all the 190.XX's.
