Yeah, I'm a bit disappointed it with it myself, like I said in my video and earlier, I tried overclocking it to 4Ghz and it was idling at 50 and 80+ at load which was a no no for me.

Due to the lack of socket 1156 coolers I thought the V8 was meant to be good, reading the reviews made me get it but it turned out to be a disappointment. I've ordered a Zalman CNPS-10-EX and I heard it was good, hopefully that won't disappoint.

And believe me, here in Australia there are hardly any good CPU coolers especially in retail. May have to get one ordered online for a good one.

I see you bro.

that zalman cooler should be good. Most coolers are... just some you have to look out for and avoid.

edit:

Indeed @ Croc, the XMP profile 1 set my RAM to CAS 11, as well as the other 3, and the ram didn't have problems @ the speeds i set it to. (even if it was overclocked to 1800MHz, or downclocked to 1200)

I'm taking out one of my ram sticks, I can't tell which is the dead/bad one, as I always run two... and when i was running one, I didn't remember which one failed.

Hey guys good news, last night I did an 9 hour run of prime 95 at 4 ghz. The voltage was set at 1.296v. It upped a little though doing prime 95 to 1.31(load line calibration). Still lower than stock though. I'm going to post proof and pics tonight.

May want to check all the pins are making contact..

I know this is has got me scared.Doesn't matter what mobo just if it has a foxcon socket.I am now considering another board because of this.I have Gigabyte GA-P55 UD4P.I guess I will look around and see who has another at good price with a Lotes/Tyco AMP socket.

Unless your putting 1.6v threw your chip I wouldn't worry.

Keep in mind, that the motherboards featured there were not very good quaility, I feel bad for ppl who have the same boards. Keeping below 1.4V on some of the lower/mid end boards seems to be a good safety measure, at least that is what I am doing w/ my P7P55D Pro board.

Not true, read the full thread over at XS. It's not just the sockets on some boards too.

Seriously, it's a 50/50 chance of something going wrong with your mobo, especially if you're doing something that really was not designed to do so. I think it's foolish to have 100% expectation that if you're OC'ing above recommended voltage specs, everything will be fine. That's not being realistic. If you're OC'ing with vcores @ 1.43v and above just remember that your chances are even higher for anything to go wrong. ASUS, Gigabyte, EVGA, whatever brand it is...it can happen to somebody and maybe not.

Sounds similar to all those crappy-ass Microsoft 360 consoles. Still on my 1st 360 when it was 1st released and I know a half-dozen who are on their 3rd or 4th it was 1st released.
